A month after launch, the number of players in Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection has dropped below 100

One of the most disappointing releases this year was the remaster of the Star Wars Battlefront Collection. Although the idea seemed to be a guaranteed success, the update and combination of Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront 2 from 2004 and 2005 received low reviews due to the high price, bugs and poor performance. As a result, the FPS player count continues to fall, already dipping below 100 – at least on Steam.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection was met with disapproval from both players returning to the classic FPS and those trying it for the first time. With only 20% of the 6,600+ reviews on Steam being positive, the collection ended up with a “Mostly Negative” rating. Most of the complaints relate to technical issues that have made connecting to matches problematic.

At the same time, player activity has reached an all-time low – which is very bad for a title that was released a month ago, raising questions about the future of the game. Indeed, what is the point of supporting games that are played by 50 people.

If this trend continues, development and support may cease in a few months. To correct the situation, the team needs to not only fix all the problems, but make the collection even better and more convenient than the original.
