Although the Auditore family from Assassin’s Creed did not actually exist , Ubisoft portrayed them as one of the richest and most powerful noble families in Florence, with estates scattered throughout Tuscany. In particular, the imposing Villa Auditore is located in Monteriggioni .
This is one of the most symbolic locations in Assassin’s Creed II , Ezio Auditore ‘s main refuge after his escape from Florence and from which he continues his fight against the Templars . But clearly with the Auditore family being a product of Ubisoft’s imagination, Villa Auditore doesn’t really exist either. At least not with this name .
Villa Auditore actually has a precise counterpart in the real world: the structure of the building is in fact based on Villa di Maiano , which has a facade practically identical to the one seen inside in Assassin’s Creed II. However, it is not located in Monteriggioni: Villa Maiano is also located in Tuscany in Fiesole, in via del Salviatino 1 località Maiano , not too far from Florence. The similarity clearly concerns the external facade with the interiors of Villa Auditore which are instead completely original, however if you are a big fan of the Ubisoft series and want to see the real Villa Auditore with your own eyes, a nice trip with lots of souvenir photos is what you need.
