BIOSHOCK 4 LEAK: IS THIS THE FIRST IN-GAME IMAGE OF THE NEW CHAPTER?
While the web is discussing the possible acceleration of the development of BioShock 4 , the leak of the first in-game image of the new chapter of the iconic series created by Ken Levine is bouncing from the pages of MP1st .
The journalists at MP1st claim to have been contacted by a 2K digital visual effects artist who prefers to remain anonymous: the designer in question showed an image that he says comes from a build of BioShock 4 created in 2021 for the internal presentation of a project that, at the time, was codenamed ‘Parkside’ .
The in-game shot from 2K’s so-called ‘Deep Throat’ features a bizarre tower-like architectural structure topped by a solar globe that emits some sort of radiation. There are other details that catch the eye, such as the ‘bouncing projectile’ weapon and a prototype user interface with numerous icons that recall the abilities to be assimilated by drawing on Plasmids and Vigors from previous BioShock games, even if there don’t appear to be any loading bars specifically for these kinds of enhancements.
As for the setting of BioShock 4, in 2019 Jason Schreier reported that the game behind ‘Project Parkside’ is expected to be set in a 1960s Antarctic town called Borealis. While we wait for a comment from 2K, we remind you that in mid-2023 Ken Levine explained why he is not developing BioShock 4 .
