Capcom Acquires Minimum Studios Expert Animators Behind Its Games
Minimum Studios is now a subsidiary of Capcom, who acquired it after collaborating on several successful games.
Capcom acquired two-thirds of Minimum Studios , making the company its subsidiary. This is a move aimed at reducing the production costs of its games, considering that the Taiwan-based studio took care of the animations of some of its titles, such as the remake of Resident Evil 4 or the recent Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Capcom gets stronger
Minimum Studios was founded in 2018 and specializes in animation for video games, as highlighted by Capcom in the official acquisition statement. “Minimum Studios’ strength is animation production for the development of consumer video games for home use and the studio has worked on major Capcom titles in the past,” we can read.
“Capcom has decided to make the studio its subsidiary in order to sustainably strengthen its development and technological capabilities, with the aim of achieving its long-term goal of selling 100 million units per year.”
“Going forward, Capcom will continue to explore the acquisition of technologies necessary to enhance the development of its games .”
It is precisely the collaboration with Capcom that allowed Minimum Studios to open a second branch last December : “We excel in producing animations for video games, characters, VR, motion capture, films and advertisements.” You can read on the company’s official website. “Our expertise is in producing animations for games, films and advertisements. With our professional skills, rich experience and efficient way of working, we strive to meet our customers’ needs and attract high-quality customers, thus creating a virtuous circle of success.”
