The Deadliest Weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree Is a Perfume Vial That Can Kill the Final Boss in 13 Seconds
The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion only came out a week ago, but theorycrafters have already found a way to break it using a bottle of perfume. It turns out that the monsters of the Shadowlands and beyond are vulnerable to an overdose of cologne.
YouTuber Syrobe described the build on his channel – essentially, the standard Lightning Perfume Bottle moveset creates a series of explosions, each of which deals decent damage with its own unique hitbox. However, they are usually all spread out, as expected.

But if you apply the new War Ashes Rolling Sparks to the Lightning Perfume Bottle, here’s what happens: from a design standpoint, this War Ashes should direct all of the bottle’s explosions into a line in front of you to increase the range of the otherwise awkward weapon.
However, if you direct it into the ground, every explosion in that line detonates “instantly and on top of each other.” This causes monstrous damage.
To compensate for the overall poor weapon scaling, Syrobe recommends using a bunch of gear that buffs lightning damage and spirit weapons, as well as the Elder’s Jubilation Talisman and Black Pie. talisman , which increase your damage from having (or, in the case of the talisman, when near) the effect of Madness. Give yourself some madness and you’re ready to fight.
There’s also a new Rakshasa armor set that increases your damage in exchange for damage taken – which is unlikely to happen given the tens of thousands of damage you’re dealing in seconds.
When all of this comes together, it allows you to take down the expansion’s final boss in about 13 seconds.
However, FromSoftware has announced that Shadow of the Erdtree will be receiving rebalancing patches, so the build may not survive the updates.
