A virtual detective revealed that the Dancing Lion boss from Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is two people in a suit
Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has been available for a few days now and many players are having difficulty defeating some of the bosses created by FromSoftware. One of these, particularly insidious, seems to hide a bizarre secret.
The first major boss of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, the Dancing Lion, turned out to be not quite what it seemed at first glance. A new video from YouTube channel BonfireVN revealed an interesting detail: there are actually two people hiding under the lion costume.
Initially, many players speculated that despite the visual similarities to Chinese lion dances, there was some kind of monstrous creature hiding under the armor and cloak of the Lion Dancing Divine Beast, similar to the enemies from the main game.
However, when BonfireVN peeled back the top layers of the Dancing Lion model, it became apparent that there were two squat men inside. The one who controls the rear is especially funny: he crouches so low that he practically stands on all fours.

It’s amazing to watch the Dancing Lion’s attack animations without the top layers of armor. It’s impressive how much work was put into animating the movements of both dancers, although most players will never see what’s going on underneath the costume. While it does look a little weird when the lion spins the back man seems about to fly off due to centrifugal force, overall it looks as logical as a magical lion dance from another dimension could look like.
This boss once again demonstrates FromSoftware’s skill and attention to detail.
