HOW TO PLAY ALL ASSASSIN’S CREED GAMES IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER BEFORE SHADOWS
The Assassin’s Creed saga is made up of a considerable number of episodes whose plots unfold over several millennia of human history. If you feel like replaying them while waiting for Shadows , scheduled for November 15, 2024, you can also do it in chronological order rather than in release order: now we’ll tell you how.
How to play Assassin’s Creed in chronological order
The video games of the main Assassin’s Creed series develop on two time planes. That of the present, which essentially goes hand in hand with the order of publication of the various episodes, and that of the past, which instead jumps back and forth in time from one game to another.
A good way to play the main Assassin’s Creed games is certainly to follow the order of publication, but in light of what we have said it is also possible to do it in chronological order following the time plan of the past . If the idea excites you, then you can do it this way:

Where does Assassin’s Creed Shadows fit in?
The story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows begins in 1579 , which represents the year of arrival in Japan of Yasuke, the first samurai of African origins and one of the two playable characters (the other is the shinobi Naoe). In light of this, in the chronology of the series Assassin’s Creed Shadows is placed after Revelations (and the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze) and before Black Flag (which focuses on piracy in the Caribbean).
Despite the temporal proximity, in any case, the events of Assassin’s Creed Shadows take place in geographically very distant places, more precisely in the Japan of the Sengoku period , where probably very little news of what was happening in the Caribbean or in Europe reached us. The Sengoku period is also called the period of warring states due to the turmoil and battles that marked it: here are some of the historical figures present in Assassin’s Creed Shadows , including the famous warlord Oda Nobunaga
