Bioware has revealed new details on Dragon Age: The Veilguard, in particular regarding the progression system of the protagonist and the supporting characters who will follow us during the adventure.
As part of Game Informer’s coverage, many details have arrived on the progression system of Dragon Age: The Veilguard , which will offer players great freedom to customize the protagonist’s abilities with a large number of options in terms of active and passive abilities to unlock.
But let’s go step by step. As you may already know during character creation it will be possible between three basic classes, namely the warrior, the thief and the magician. Each class has its own skill tree, which as we can see below is truly huge. In total we are talking about 168 nodes between active, passive, Ultimate skills and traits , divided into ten thematic sections in a hexagonal grid, which starts from the center (the basic starting class) up to the external sections dedicated to the three subclasses.
Maximum level, point reset and companion skills
Again in the example below it is possible to see that a level 30 character has only unlocked a small number of nodes (39 out of 168), which means that we will need to choose very carefully which ones are most useful for our style of play, confirming the importance of the RPG component in the title . In this regard, Bioware has also revealed that the maximum character level is 50 . That said, in the bottom left corner of the screen there is a “Refund Points” option, which suggests that resetting skill points will be quite accessible, which will allow players to freely experiment with the most suitable build for their players. own tastes.

And what about the supporting characters? Bioware didn’t show their skill tree, but revealed that players will be able to select 3 of the 5 skills each companion can learn in battle . Each time the “relationship level” between the protagonist and a party member increases, a skill point is obtained for that specific character.
