NVIDIA DLSS 3 confirmed in 4 new games including Still Wakes the Deep
NVIDIA DLSS 3 boosts the performance of 4 new games, namely Still Wakes the Deep, Pax Dei, Deep Rock Galactic and Skye: The Misty Isle, offering visual and frame rate improvements for GeForce RTX 40 Series users.
In the usual weekly update, NVIDIA confirmed the arrival of DLSS 3 (Super Resolution and Frame Generation) and Reflex in The Chinese Room’s first-person horror game, Still Wakes the Deep, available today on all platforms. According to benchmarks released by the company, NVIDIA DLSS 3 offers GeForce RTX 40 Series users an average performance increase of 2.6x at 4K resolution at maximum in-game settings. There’s also the option to replace the Super Resolution component with DLAA, which improves visual fidelity via AI.
As we highlighted in our review of Still Wakes the Deep , the new horror game by The Chinese Room has not completely convinced us: it is a narrative adventure with a weakness for passive survival horror, which however is incapable of expressing the values which one would expect eleven years after Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. The story seems like a Scottish reworking of Dead Space and the gameplay is just a set of gimmicks put there to tell it, but with little desire and even less courage. The story peaks at the end, but it gets there a little too quickly and without any original ideas.
But that’s not all, because PC gamers can look forward to another game release in Unreal Engine 5, Mainframe Industries’ early access MMORPG Pax Dei . As previously announced, NVIDIA DLSS 3 is also available in this game, providing GeForce RTX 40 owners with an average 3x performance boost at 4K resolution at maximum settings. However, Pax Dei will remain in Early Access until at least June 2025.
DLSS 3 will also be available tomorrow in another Early Access game, Skye: The Misty Isle . The expected average performance increase in the Viking-inspired single-player survival game is slightly lower this time, but still notable, with a 2.4x increase.
