Diablo 4: the PTR will return before Season 5 with various new features details arriving this week

Blizzard has announced plans to launch the Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR in the coming days, with further details to be revealed this week in the Campfire Chat.

Diablo 4’s Public Test Realm (PTR) is set to return ahead of Season 5 , allowing players to try out some of the new features planned for the next season of the action RPG, with more information coming this week from Blizzard.

The new episode of the Campfire Chat is scheduled for Friday 21 June (except for last minute changes) during which some new features arriving in Diablo 4 will be announced, also regarding Season 5 and the opening of the PTR scheduled as a preview of what will be introduced in the new season.

Various planned innovations will therefore be able to be tested in advance through the Public Test Realm which will be reopened, although it will probably be for a limited period of time in this case too, as happened on the occasion of the previous opening.

A shorter season awaits Vessel of Hatred

The initial plan was to release the mid-Season 4 update after the Season 5 PTR closed, but that later changed.

Considering that these new features are destined to arrive shortly, the developers have decided to integrate everything and release the mid-season update first.

This should also make it easier to focus on testing the specific changes Blizzard wants feedback on before Season 5 launches.

The latter should be shorter, lasting less than the standard 12 weeks in order to speed up the time and allow the launch of Season 6 with the arrival of the announced Vessel of Hatred expansion .

Prior to Friday’s stream, the Season 4 mid-season update (1.4.3) will release early this week, possibly as early as tomorrow, June 18, 2024. This update should bring improvements to some of the builds underperformers along with some class skills.
