Monster Hunter Stories HD received positive but not stellar ratings in international reviews
Eight years after its launch on Nintendo 3D, Monster Hunter Stories is back with a remastered re-release for PC and consoles. Here are the opinions of the international press.
Monster Hunter Stories HD is now available on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch and as usual the debut of this conversion was accompanied by reviews from the international press , which in most cases gave positive votes to the game, despite reporting some critical issues which distances him from excellence.
For those who don’t know, it is a remastered version of the first chapter of the Monster Hunter spin-off series with turn-based combat, originally released on Nintendo 3DS in 2016. In particular, we find a completely updated graphics section in high definition , dialogue dubbed and various extras, such as a gallery with over 200 illustrations and a jukebox that allows you to listen to the game’s soundtrack.

At the time of writing, Monster Hunter Stories HD on Metacritic has an average score of 77 on Nintendo Switch and 75 on PS4 . In our review we explain that it is a more than discreet proposal in its creation and that it denotes a good job of modernizing the technical sector. Despite this, the game often betrays its nature as a 3DS title and has a more antiquated structure than the sequel Wings of Ruin (now also available on PS4, as well as on Switch and PC).
