Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree – New Summons Weapons and Martial Arts
FromSoftware has already said that Shadow of the Erdtree will be the biggest addition to their game, and that means not only adding new bosses, areas, and dungeons to Elden Ring, but also new weapons. The preview from IGN noted the appearance of a new summon of spirits – the Black Knight Commander Andreas. Xbox Wire also revealed two others – Grave Bird and Giant Enchanted Hand.
As for the new weapons, the Heavy Smithscript Axe’s heavy attack involves throwing (without resource consumption), and The Backhand Blade can split into two blades. There is also Milday, a large sword whose martial art allows the player to take a stance to perform various additional attacks, such as a jump kick.
The Dual Blade martial art involves “rushing towards the enemy’s side to strike in the ribs”, which can be confusing when switching between the two weapon forms. Players can also find new armor, such as the Oathseeker Knight armor.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree releases June 21 on PC and consoles.
