About half of PlayStation gamers still play Call of Duty on PS4
According to what has been revealed, about half of Call of Duty PlayStation players don’t want to abandon their beloved PS4, which they feel very comfortable with.
Apparently many PlayStation gamers aren’t interested in making the generational leap and are fine with their PS4 . At least that’s the case for fans of the Call of Duty series , who evidently feel no reason to jump on PS5. Consider that as many as 48% of players of Activision Blizzard’s military shooters on PlayStation still play on the old console, as reported by the informant Tom Henderson, usually well informed on Call of Duty things.
This may be why the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will probably also arrive on old generation consoles , at least according to rumors, and that the series will probably support them for a long time to come. How can you miss such a mass of users? Activision certainly can’t tell half of its players that it will no longer give them their beloved COD. It wouldn’t be financially wise at all.
The data also demonstrates another interesting fact: many gamers are tied to a few series and are not so interested in the machine on which they can enjoy them. Read: they are interested in games and their communities, not in the graphical improvements made possible by the latest hardware. For this reason they feel no need to make the generational leap.

After all, it’s not easy to find other reasons to make them do so, considering that they often don’t buy other games, not even the most talked about exclusive ones.
Mat Piscatella, Executive Director and Consultant at Circana, revealed that the most played games in the United States are Fortnite , Minecraft , Roblox, Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty, all available on PS4. Many will likely be switching to a new console when GTA 6 releases, which won’t be coming to PS4 and Xbox One.
