As previously confirmed, Baldur’s Gate 4 will not be developed by Larian Studios , with the Belgian company choosing to take a path completely disconnected from the famous franchise for its next game. A new Baldur’s Gate could still become a reality sooner or later, created by another reality.
In fact, we know that Wizards of the Coast is already in contact with some studios for Baldur’s Gate 4 although at the moment it is still too early to make definitive decisions on who will develop the future exponent of the brand. Regardless of which company takes the reins of the project, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke has some advice for future creators: follow your own clear path .
“ It will be up to them to decide how to proceed ,” Vincke said in an interview with Gamesradar at the Digital Dragon Conference in Poland. The CEO wouldn’t give specific, detailed advice to whoever will be working on Baldur’s Gate 4 , only saying that ” they have to do their own thing, and I’ll wait to find out what they’re going to do. And I honestly think there’s so many things they could do, there’s a whole realm of possibilities waiting for them .”
Collecting the legacy of Larian Studios and Baldur’s Gate 3 will be a truly arduous challenge for any studio that decides to take on the next game: all that remains is to find out who will want to embark on such a big and ambitious challenge.
