BALDUR’S GATE 3: THE PERFECT CONTROLLER EXISTS AND A SHADOWHEART FAN INVENTED IT
Among the many Baldur’s Gate 3 players crazy about Shadowheart we also find Rudeism, a streamer and modder who thought well of referring to the much loved character from Larian’s role-playing masterpiece to give life to a special controller.
The content creator with a weakness for Shadowheart was inspired by the events he experienced while exploring the Forgotten Realms to create a customized controller that perfectly embodies the spirit of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Rudeism’s custom controller takes the form of the Shadowheart Artifact . creating starting from the ingame polygonal model of the enchanted artefact guarded by Shadowheart, the customized controller of the streamer sacrifices the ergonomics and practicality of traditional pads to focus everything on the immersion restored, precisely, by the need to use the Artifact to continue the fantasy adventure by Larian studios.
On each face of the device there is a button (for a total of 20 buttons ), with accelerometers and gyroscopes integrated inside the 3D printed body which allow the player to move freely in the scenario (or maneuver the cursor) with the simple movement of the Artifact.
Born as a joke at the end of last year and intended to be completed in just over a week, the project by the content creator passionate about Baldur’s Gate 3 became much more complex than expected. It required five months of development, design, programming, and testing to be completed.
To stay on topic, did you know that the German Government wants to finance video games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and give new impetus to the entertainment industry in Germany by drawing inspiration from the success achieved by Larian’s role-playing masterpiece?
