Electronic Arts and BioWare have not yet revealed the exact release date, but they have given us an appointment in autumn 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series

What is the story of Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
The story of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set after the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition and its DLC . Players are asked to embody Rook, a fully customizable hero. The concept of “company” is central to this new chapter, since each member of the party is equipped with a unique history, motivations and abilities.
The goal is to form a team to safeguard The Veil, stop Solas and decide the fate of Thedas .
Who are the Dragon Age: The Veilguard companions?
As we said, companions play a leading role in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. There are seven of them, namely:
- Davrin (Warrior): Made a name for himself as a monster hunter;
- Taash (Warrior): A dragon slayer who lives for adventure and risk;
- Bellara (Thief): creative and romantic, she is a Veil Jumper obsessed with secrets;
- Lace Harding (Thief): a dwarf with a big heart, a positive soul and a bow always ready to shoot an arrow;
- Lucanis Dellamorte (Rogue): balanced and pragmatic assassin, descended from the House of the Raven , a criminal organization known throughout Thedas;
- Emmrich Volkarin (Wizard): a necromancer flanked by a peculiar assistant – a murderous skeleton called Manfred;
- Neve Gallus (Sorceress): Fights for a better future as a private detective and member of the rebel association Shadow Dragons .
How is the gameplay of Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
As we saw in our preview of Dragon Age: The Veilguard , BioWare has moved away from the past by veering towards action and reducing the imprint of the role-playing soul . There is still a lot to see and analyze, but it seems The Veilguard wants to favor timing in the chain of attacks and dodges rather than the study of the enemies, the analysis of the area and the formulation of the strategy.
Combat varies from character to character, as you can fight hand-to-hand, cast magic, or fire ranged arrows as needed.
The optional strategic view of Inquisition has been replaced by a skill wheel , which interrupts the action allowing both to select the favorite skill (which can also be activated with a quick command in real time during the fight) and to observe the characteristics of the opponents.
A complex dialogue system also allows you to deepen relationships with the seven companions and influence the continuation of the story.
Compared to Inquisition, The Veilguard features smaller areas to offer a drier experience and prevent the player from feeling disoriented. There is no shortage of very open areas, but the stated objective is not to waste too much time .
Is Dragon Age: The Veilguard in Italian?
Support for the Italian language is provided only for texts and subtitles , just like the previous chapters of the Dragon Age series (and unlike the virtuous example of the other BioWare series, Mass Effect).
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is therefore not dubbed in Italian . The only dubbed languages are English, French and German.
